It's quite a nice touch.Almost all diseases in the game come with their own unique special traits and inflict varying amounts of damage depending on what symptoms their traits cause.

Plus the antibiotics with the Van Expanded mod makes recovering better too along with medicine to treat infections. I normally force someone to "rest until well" but I've noticed sometimes they still try to get up so I could just knock them out. It may not be possible to keep them above the mental break threshold with the withdrawal without feeding their addiction, so you could anesthetize them to keep them in bed to rest out the disease without risk of a break, which both makes it easier to survive the disease and prevents you from needing to arrest them for their own good and incurring the "imprisoned" moodlet. Yes I could've built a second wall on the outside first but I didn't want to do that.Īnother, more useful, possibility would be anesthetizing someone in withdrawal who has a lethal disease. Originally posted by Astasia:Personally, manually applying anesthesia is not something I would ever do in any situation, it's just not worth the effort or resources. It's not something I do much at all either, but I had a recent circumstance where I decided to anesthetize one of my prisoners so I could replace the outer wall of the prison with a stone wall without them running away. because it is just luxus prison cells attached to my hospital. and the "mememe, they locked me away for a while" mood goes away on its own.Īs said.

Won't be a pleasant awakening but it serves the greater good. Would be a shame to loose someone that is just addicted and has to be forced to get clean.Įven easier, if you have medicine to spare, just knock them out by Anesthetizing them beforehand. you are better off if you choose someone with very high social skill, medium melee and without any kind of weaponry. then take another pawn to arrest them while they are already in their Room. just drag them and move them manually into the area. How do you set up a "separate wing" to put them in / force them in with certain things? I basically put them in luxus Prison until the withdrawal effect has completed its cycle.Īnd as some of them tend to end up immobile during the withdrawal.

i call this wing in my Hospital the Psychatry.

What I imagine the pawn in pain goes through versus the doctor pawn who says the statues are good for you: OH MAN I JUST GOT STABBED 10 TIMES, I'M BLEEDING OUT, I'VE BEEN SHOT AND I'M HAVING DRUG statues.they soothe my soul. Likewise a colonist in withdrawal that is assigned to recreation all day in a gorgeous environment also usually wont have any issues if you keep your drugs out of reach. If you put a few decent sculptures near the bed where somebody is in pain, the mood bonus from gorgeous surrounding will pretty much cancel out even the worst pain. Personally, manually applying anesthesia is not something I would ever do in any situation, it's just not worth the effort or resources. It will hide actual consciousness and make things a bit dangerous in that way, it's not uncommon for people to have a pawn die and claim the anesthetic caused it because they couldn't actually see the cause of death under the effect.

Originally posted by Astasia:Anesthesia only lasts 6 hours, requires a med every time, and has side effects like mental breaks (wandering) and memory loss, but there should be no risk of death from using it.
